Who? Themos, Dora, Χing-Pin, Nikos
Where? Westwood
How much? $14

While this is not the best persian we've ever tried, it is in great location, accepts walks ins, has large authentic portions and it is quite cheap. The best items were the chicken polo and the shish kebab. Many variations of traditional dishes are offered. Shaherzad though I think is still the best in town!

Bandar * * * * $$$$
Who? Themos, Dora, Stavros, Rania
Where? Downtown San Diego
How much? $42
Zagat: -
San Diego boasts dozens of restaurants in the downtown area, with people actually going there when it gets dark rather than leaving! Bandar is a Persian gem with emphasis on quality and quantity food. We had beef, chicken and lamb kebab and they were all taste-perfect. Then include the street-seating and the excellent appetizers and you have a recipe for success. The important thing is that we padi $40 and we would pay it again for this food.

Gypsy cafe * * * $$
Who? Themos, Nikos
Where? Westwood
How much? $16
The food includes tasty middle-eastern cooked dishes, the people include ucla chicks, and many tables are outside in the street (which is a great plus for me). You can smoke 25 different flavors of hookas and also stay up late in the night (=classic greek spot). Realatively loud middle eastern music accompanies the experience. I can't have more than 2 stars since this is not the type of restaurants I prefer though.

Shaherzad * * * *
Zagat: * * * *, $22
We didn't have any Persian restaurants on this list yet: Shahrzad is a nice one on 1442 Westwood Blvd with reasonable prices, just make sure you make a reservation first. I don't remember a thing from what I ate there, but everything was classy and good.
